I AM ALWAYS ETHICAL IN MY BUSINESS… BUT I HAVE DONE RECENTLY ONLY ONE UNETHICAL THING TO ACHIEVE BIG IN MY BUSINESS… BUT I AM FEELING GUILTY… WILL IT AFFECT ME ?

Actually, one man was living in India. He was already rich, but still he wanted to become richer because one of his friends was wealthier than him. So, he went to God and prayed for a way to become richer than his friend. Then one day, a Godman told him about a temple where offerings were made openly in front of the Goddess — there was no closed donation box. Yet, nobody ever stole from it, because everyone respected the Goddess and feared divine punishment.

The Godman said, “Go to that temple and take a ₹2000 note from the offering plate. Bring it to me, I’ll perform a pooja for you, and you’ll definitely get a big contract. You’ll become richer than your friend.” The man believed him. One day, when no one was around and the poosari (priest) had gone inside, he quietly took a ₹2000 note from the offerings. He could have told the priest about it, but he didn’t. He cunningly took the note, left the temple, and went home.

The next day, something unusual happened. The temple didn’t have CCTV cameras, but they used to take photographs of all the offerings placed in front of the Goddess. When the priest compared the photos, he noticed that one ₹2000 note was missing. It was the first time something like this had happened, and it created a big shock. The priest checked with all the temple employees — most of them were poor or lower-middle-class people, but none of them had taken the money.

Then they checked the list of visitors who had come to the temple the previous day. Among them was the rich man. But nobody suspected him. “He is so rich — why would he steal just ₹2000?” they thought. Still, since the money was missing and it was a matter of faith, they called the police to investigate who had taken the money.

Luckily, the photograph had captured the serial number of the missing ₹2000 note. Using that clue, the police started checking everyone who had visited the temple that day. They searched all the employees but couldn’t find the note. Finally, they decided to check the rich man’s house as well. To everyone’s shock, they found the exact ₹2000 note in his possession. The priest and the devotees were stunned — how could such a wealthy man steal from the Goddess’s offering?

A case was filed against him, and he was arrested. The news spread everywhere, becoming the talk of the town. People couldn’t believe that a man of such status would stoop so low for just ₹2000. His company, which was listed on the stock market, faced a huge backlash. The share prices crashed to half their value, and he lost several crores.

From this incident, there are several lessons to learn. First, insecurity — he was insecure that his friend was richer than him. That insecurity pushed him to make a wrong decision. Second, ego — he could have easily told the priest that he needed ₹2000 for a pooja and even donated ₹5000 instead. But his ego stopped him. He thought asking would hurt his pride, so he chose to steal.

The karma of his unethical action had its own effect. He wanted to double his net worth, but instead, it became half. He took advantage of the fact that no one would ever doubt him because of his wealth — and that belief became his downfall. His ego, insecurity, and unethical actions combined to destroy him.

This story teaches us that ego blinds judgment, insecurity weakens the mind, and unethical actions invite karma’s correction. He could have chosen the honest path, but he didn’t — and paid the price for it. Always remember: even if no one is watching, God and karma always are.
