Actually, we are all trying to find a cure—mainly to attain peace of mind. At times, we may also seek a cure to overcome our ego, boost our confidence, or achieve other benefits like self-awareness and better self-monitoring. Many benefits are associated with this journey, and they often come naturally when we sincerely pursue inner growth.
However, what often happens is that when we don’t find a cure, we may become depressed, egoistic, or even lose our self-confidence. This typically occurs in the case of an unrealized person, someone who becomes disheartened when solutions do not come easily or immediately.
In contrast, a realized person continues to put in effort again and again, with patience and resilience, until a solution is found. Even if no clear solution emerges, they don’t give up. Eventually, when frustration builds and they sense that a solution may not be possible, they reach a state of acceptance and move on with peace.
This acceptance reflects the strength of a mature and realized mind. Once true acceptance sets in, the issue quietly leaves the mind. However, if someone has not made any effort and still tries to accept the situation, a sense of guilt may linger deep inside.
On the other hand, if one has put in sincere effort and things still don’t work out, then acceptance arises naturally and is free from guilt—because there is the inner satisfaction of having done one’s best. Ultimately, whatever direction our efforts take—whether to overcome ego, insecurity, depression, or confusion—they all lead to the same final goal: peace of mind. That remains the deepest longing behind every inner journey.
